'Places of Power' Monthly Yarn Club
Listings are open from the 1st to the 15th of each month
This year's folklore-themed club is all about the powerful places where stories gather: standing stones and crossroads, barrows and hearths, shorelines and ruins. These are places layered with human beliefs and shaped by legends. Each month I'll be exploring just why a certain area or type of location has held such fascination throughout the centuries and creating a unique colourway inspired by the ideas, history and landscape of these Places of Power.
Each month's package includes:

A 100g skein of hand-dyed sock yarn in your choice of 4ply or DK - inspired by a folklore-rich place of power.

A themed stitch marker, designed to echo the location of the month.

A wax-sealed envelope containing a specially written page of lore, exploring the history, stories and recorded belief surrounding the places behind the colourway.

Optional 20g mini skein - choose to sprinkle some extra magic for a full sock set

Ordering Dates
Each theme is available to order for a limited time, then dispatched at the end of the month.
Standing Stones: 1st - 15th Feb
Caverns: 1st - 15th March
The Greenwood: 1st - 15th April
Hilltops: 1st - 15th May
Deep Water: 1st - 15th June
Shorelines: 1st - 15th July
The Worked Land: 1st - 15th August
Crossroads: 1st - 15th September
Barrows & Burials: 1st - 15th October
Ruins: 1st - 15th November
The Hearth: 1st - 15th December
When does it ship?
Yarn clubs are all dyed to order once the listing closes at midnight on the 15th of each month. They will be posted out in the last few days of the month.
Can I add something else to my order?
Anything ordered at the same time as a club will be posted along with it, so if you need something sooner please make a separate order! If you take out a monthly subscription, I'll send you a personalised coupon that you can use to have other purchases bundled with your yarn club order throughout the month and save on postage.
How do I manage my subscription?
If you choose the monthly subscription option, the payment will be taken on the same date each month unless you choose to cancel, or until the yarn club finishes. You can cancel at any time by emailing me at naomi@skeinhawkyarns.co.uk
Are the colours designed to go together in one big project?
All the yarns are intended to stand alone, they won't deliberately form a set. Some will be variegated, some tonal, and I use a variety of dyeing techniques including speckling and pooling.
Can I see the colour in advance?
Nope, soz! The colourway remains a mystery until it arrives in your eager hands. The theme of the month will give you a hint but the surprise is part of the fun! You can see previous reveals in the listing, and the galleries on this page, to get a taste of what you might receive...
