Skeinhawk Yarns is committed to keeping your information safe. If I make any material changes to this policy, they will take place immediately upon posting on this website.
What personal information do I collect?

To fulfil your order I must collect some of your information which you provide yourself at checkout, this information includes: name, email address, postal and billing address, payment information and whatever extra information you may provide should you email me with any queries or custom order information. Use of the contact form on the website is considered implicit consent to allow me to use the details provided to help you with your query and further communications resulting from it.

Unless you have explicitly opted-in to other communications, I will only use the information you provide at checkout to provide you with your online order and follow-up communications regarding your purchase, and will store this electronically as I am legally required to do for tax obligations.

I will not use your order details to send you unsolicited marketing via any channel, nor sell to other companies.

I rely on a number of different legal legislation, acts and regulations to be able to collect your data and I only ever use this data for lawful use such as:

Information sharing and disclosure

I may share your personal information with third parties for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances. I ensure that all third party processors are GDPR compliant and have linked to their privacy policies below.

Wix and Paypal. I share information with Wix as necessary to provide you our services and comply with our obligations. All payments are processed through Wix payments or Paypal and at no point do I have view or access to your financial details, which you must input at the point of checkout or are held within your Paypal l account.

I use Mailerlite to provide mailing list services and will only add you upon explicit consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.

I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to our shop, specifically delivery companies such as Royal Mail Click & Drop. I need to share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services - such as your name and postal address, and email address where needed to provide you with tracking details.

What about cookies?

I use some trusted cookies - such as Google Analytics - to track where users come from, which pages they view and what sort of device they are using. Most of these are only added for the duration of the session (the time you actually spend on the site) with the remaining used to speed up your searching and shopping processes the next time you visit and to help me make sure I'm reaching the right audience. You can opt out of all non-essential cookies when you enter the website.

Data retention
I will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for 6 years from the end of the last company financial year they relate to.
